Funding News – Britain’s Energy Coast Launches £6.6m Support Fund

Business support body Britain’s Energy Coast (BEC) has launched a new investing in business programme aimed at creating and safeguarding more than 1,000 jobs and unlocking £31m of private sector investment into West Cumbria.

The economic development organisation is inviting businesses to apply for a share of a £6.6m pot for investment in fixed assets such as land, buildings, plant and equipment as well as R & D.

The programme is targeted at businesses involved in manufacturing, processing, engineering and fabrication activities with special emphasis on those working in west Cumbria’s nuclear and renewable energy supply chain and tourism attractions.

Grants of £10,000 upwards will be available up for businesses currently operating in the Allerdale and Copeland areas or to companies looking to relocate to them.
