Winter Tips for Our Occupiers

Although the winter of 2011 proved not to be as extreme as in 2010, many parts of the country still experienced sub-zero temperatures for extended periods, resulting in further water damage losses.

With the Met Office predicting another period of extreme winter temperatures, we would like to give you a few tips to help prevent disruption to your business.

If your unit is only used for storage, it is of the upmost importance that if you are not going to keep the unit heated, that the water is shut off and drained down. If you are unable to turn off and drain down then it is vital the building is heated.

During periods when the building is not occupied provisions must be made to ensure the unit is inspected regularly to ensure there is no escape of water from your unit or adjoining units, and that the heating is still operational and maintaining a suitable internal temperature.
