BIOTOOLOMICS LTD EXPANDS AT NUMBER ONE INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, CONSETT

Whittle Jones, agents acting on behalf of Northern Trust Company Ltd, are pleased to announce that BioToolomics Ltd have expanded their operations at the Number One Industrial Estate. Consett.

BioToolomics have been occupiers on the estate since 2012 and approached Whittle Jones about taking additional space to complement their existing 1,550 sq ft laboratory facility. A 5 year lease was agreed on Unit 32B which takes their occupancy to over 6,600 sq ft.

Chad Zhang, Managing Director at BioToolomics commented “BioToolomics develop and manufacture innovative bioprocessing chromatography products to a worldwide market. Our business expansion requires a good combination of high standard office and manufacturing space at a reasonable cost. Whittle Jones have been very supportive during our facility expansion process, and in particular Barry Nelson who has helped us in achieving our ambitions, without having to relocate away from Number One Industrial Estate.”

Barry Nelson, Regional Property Manager at Whittle Jones, commented “We are delighted we have been able to support the expansion plans of BioToolomics and have worked closely with them on the new deal. Unit 32B has been fully refurbished internally to include a new office with kitchenette to the occupier specification; upgraded WC’s, renewed doors and windows, plus LED lighting which followed external cladding recoating works.”

Number One Industrial Estate extends to over 790,000 sq ft of commercial space split into 105 units and is home to over 70 different businesses, and approximately 1,200 employees. Units on site range from 495 sq ft workshops up to the largest factory unit of 122,560 sq ft.

The estate is located around 1⁄2 mile north of Consett town centre and is readily accessed from the A691 and A692 trunk roads. It is conveniently located for the circa 40,000 surrounding population (2011) and is served by local bus routes along Villa Real Road (A691) and through the estate. Consett has attractive countryside on its doorstep whilst being within easy reach of the major northeast conurbations.
