INDUSTRIAL MARKET BOUNCES BACK

26th June 2020

Whittle Jones North East; managing agents acting on behalf of Northern Trust are pleased to see that demand for industrial units has quickly bounced back from a fall in the level of enquiries when the coronavirus lockdown measures were introduced.

The number of people looking for workshops, industrial units and trade counter space has increased with June expected to show a record number of enquiries received.

Steve Brown, Regional Property Director for Whittle Jones North East commented “During these unprecedented times, we were uncertain how the commercial market would hold up but we have been buoyed with its resilience and the increase in demand from both new enquirers and our existing occupiers looking for more space. We have worked closely with our current occupiers during this time so they have been able to continue trading.”

Northern Trust’s North East portfolio covers over 2.7m sq ft of predominantly industrial space in more than 1,200 individual units / office suites. There are 66 estates located throughout Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Teesside.

Steve Brown continued “Our estates are located in prominent positions and provide high quality business space at affordable rents. We can tailor our deals to suit individual circumstances, with flexible agreements and quick completions.”
