Funding News – £10 Million Training Boost for Black Country

£10 million worth of funding has been secured by a Black Country training organisation to fund adult apprenticeships in the area.

BCTG (Black Country Training Group) said the money would assist with funding in excess of 5,000 apprenticeships for people aged 19 plus ove the forthcoming year. The Oldbury-based company has won an additional £1 million contract from the Skills Funding Agency to provide apprenticeships for 16-18 year olds. The capital will assist apprenticeships in a variety of sectors, from engineering and IT to social care and hairdressing.

BCTG is managing the £10 million contract through a consortium of in excess of 40 training providers who will provide placements and qualifications ranging from engineering and health to beauty and business administration.
