Funding News – Launch of £4 Million Fuse Fund to Boost Business Investment in Lancashire

The Fuse Fund is a new two-year enterprise programme designed to support new businesses trading for less than three years in Lancashire.

It will operate as a competitive capital grants scheme helping companies finance their growth projects and enhancing employment opportunities and inward investment. The Fund’s objectives are to create 1,000 new jobs and unlock £13 million worth of investment into the county.

The scheme also aims to encourage more people to set up their own business. Within Lancashire there are currently 34 businesses per 1,000 people, which falls short of the national average.

A total of £4 million will be shared amongst 600 small and medium-sized businesses over the programme’s lifespan. Individual grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 are available, contributing a quarter of the overall cost for capital investment projects.
