NORTHERN TRUST ACQUIRES 20,000 SQ FT INDUSTRIAL ESTATE IN SOUTH LANARKSHIRE

Northern Trust is pleased to announce that they have acquired just over 20,000 sq ft of multi let industrial units in the South Lanarkshire Town of Blantyre.

Whistleberry Industrial Estate comprises of 8 units contained within three terraces arranged around a central communal yard area.

Tom Parkinson, Director at Northern Trust commented “We have been expanding our multi-let industrial portfolio through new acquisitions and developments; and this latest acquisition offers good quality industrial space which will complement our existing sites in Scotland. This acquisition forms parts of our on-going strategy to acquire and develop multi-let industrial assets to support the SME business community, with our current portfolio housing in the region of 18,000 jobs.”

Northern Trust, also recently announced that work, was well underway on the construction of the first phase of their new 28,413 sq ft industrial development at Turnhouse Court, Newbridge. On completion of this and following the latest acquisition Northern Trust’s Scottish portfolio will cover over 500,000 sq ft of commercial space in 12 locations, and circa 8 million sq ft across the UK.

Northern Trust’s portfolio in Scotland extends from Dumfries, northwards to Wishaw, Cumbernauld and Perth, and eastwards to Grangemouth, Livingston and the west of Edinburgh.  

Whistleberry Industrial Estate will be actively managed by Northern Trust’s in house managing agents, Whittle Jones.
